History

The roots of Sun Electric Corporation lie in the United States where, in 1931, the firm began with designing and manufacturing test equipment for cars.

In 1948 the aerospace division was established within Sun Electric Corporation, which mainly supplied hydraulic test equipment for aircraft to the United States Air Force and many customers world-wide. In the 60’s the European activities were united in the company Sun Electric Europe B.V.

In 1981 all development and production activities of hydraulic test equipment and the rolling roads were transferred to the newly established Sun Electric Systems B.V. in Weesp, the Netherlands. The list of products and customers grew steadily ever since.

In 2007, the management took over the company and changed the name into Sun Test Systems B.V., a name which better indicates what the company stands for: developing and manufacturing high-quality test equipment for the aviation and automotive market.

Verolme Test Stands B.V., a specialist in the field of test stands for aircraft components, was taken over in 2011 and added to the group. In 2012 all activities were united under the name Sun Test Systems B.V. and Sun Test Systems Ltd.
